Volunteer Your Time

We are excited that you are interested in joining our team as a volunteer! At West County Health Centers, our volunteers are one of our most valued resources. Volunteers who give their time, talents and skills make a positive impact in the lives of others and the overall wellness of their community.

The common thread that links all of our volunteers is compassionate and dedicated service. There are many ways volunteers can become involved at West County Health Centers, and we can work with you to match your skills, talents and interests with our needs. Resorts in Bloom

Subscribe to our RiB Volunteer Mailing List

Resorts in Bloom is a collaborative fundraiser for West County Health Centers, West County Community Services and River to Coast Children's Services. These beneficiaries provide health and human services to rural communities in West County.

On the weekend of June 11, 12 and 13, 2010, visitors can tour the gardens at 15 resort properties in Guerneville and enjoy historic landmarks, a Zen meditation garden, rare specimen plants, a 100-year-old Luther Burbank prickly pear and watch organic cooking demonstrations and master gardener presentations.

We start recruiting volunteers as early as January for this event to help with flyer and materials distribution, signage installment, program development, photography, and logistics. We actively recruit over 96 volunteers as greeters and tour guides of various gardens over the three days Friday, June 11th, Saturday, June 12th, and Sunday June 13th. Shifts from 9am–4pm are available each day, and all volunteers are given a complimentary one-day ticket ($30 value) and an event T-shirt.

Resorts in Holiday is a similar resort tour taking place for the first time this year on Friday, December 4th 2009. This tour showcases the outdoor and indoor holiday decorations of 10 resort properties as well as the professional hospitality and holiday cheer of our generous hosts! Please sign-up to volunteer for this Fantastic collaborative fundraising event TODAY!!

The Human Race

The Human Race is a nationwide community fundraising event for nonprofit organizations and is the largest collaborative fund-raising event in Sonoma County as well as the largest Human Race in the nation!

The Sonoma County Race features a 3K and 10K run and walk through Howarth and Spring Lake Parks, rain or shine. Organizations and businesses recruit walkers/runners/pledge-gatherers to raise funds.

The West County Health Centers Human Race Team invites you to participate in the HUMAN RACE on Saturday, May 8th, 2010 at 8am. We meet at the West County Health Centers booth at the Herbert Slater Middle School. All participants who raise over $50 in pledges for West County Health Centers receive a West County Health Centers T-shirt and are eligible to win other “West County Health Centers Human Race Team” prizes.

Let us know if you are interested in walking, on-line pledge gathering, recruiting more team members, or team support by signing up with the WCHC volunteer sign-up form below or by going to www.humanracenow.org and choosing West County Health Centers as your designated non-profit.
